A scarce copy of this interesting photo journal and social documentary of Port Glasgow, a post-industrial town north of Glasgow. Neville, as an artist in residence, traveled through the town, making friends with the locals, and photographing them. After self-publication, the 8,000 copies of the book were uniquely delivered, free, to the eight thousand households in the Port by the members of the local Boys Football Club and was otherwise not available or marketed comercially. The local reaction was varied, with some finding the book to depict their community colorfully and fairly, whereas a group of Protestant locals burned their copies behind the Catholic club for a perceived pro-Catholic bias. This copy, we're grateful, was saved from the flames.
