The history of the Gremlins, Dahl's first children's book, is interesting given it was almost made into a feauture film by Walt Disney during World War Two, adapted and written by Dahl based on his own imagination and his experiences as a RAF pilot, however plans were scrapped in 1943 likely due to production company competition and general war story weariness. This collaboration between Dahl and Disney laid dormant until this Dark Horse publication in 2006.
