Near fine in nicely bound red morocco leather boards with raised bands, gilt lettering and lion designs to spine, all edges gilt. Some light scratching to gilt edges, three volumes have some lightly sunned edges, and scattered light foxing to text block of volume one, as well as to the occasional page. Still, a handsome copy with bright gilt of Churchill's magnum opus for which he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature. Near fine. Item #9514

All first U.K. editions, first printings excepting volume four which is listed as the Second Edition - October, 1951. While the US editions preceded this edition, the UK edition is still judged as definitive by Churchill scholars.
